Die Eukalypten sind
eine artenreiche (700) Pflanzengattung in der Familie Myrtaceae. Sie sind schnellwüchsige, sehr hartholzige, immer-grüne, hohe Bäume und Sträucher. Einige Arten ursprünglich Eucalyptus zugeordnet, werden
heute der Gattungen Corymbia zugeordnet.
Der Riesen-Eukalyptus Eucalyptus regnans ist
der grösste/höchste Laubbaum der Welt
(bis 99 Meter hoch).
